The eponymous track from Dream Cities’ forthcoming debut record, Everybody’s Nobody is a club track written by inveterate wallflowers hoping to stake their territory in the contemporary Australian music scene and provide the weirdos and outsiders (note: Everybody) with a permission to dance the night away.

Heralded by a sample from the distinctive cri de Coeur of Spanish flamenco music, a clomping guitar riff and EDM beat propels the band to start their own ruckus as a pumping doubled bass line and drum shuffle introduces the verse and chorus refrain of the song.

Sydney MC Ello C holds back on the track, eschewing the standard hip hop schtick of full-flexed bars and story-telling for catchy strategic jabs, while the melodic guitar and synth-driven hook of the song rings the peal of wisdom of getting over your mortal coil and yielding to the omnipresent groove of living things. The syncopated bass and quasi-disco beat of the drums remind us that when everybody dances, everybody’s nobody.
